Proudafrique (Pty) Ltd was established in 2007 with the primary objective to supply systems and solutions to the tunnel construction industry in South Africa with a view to expanding this into the underground mining industry.
The company has, since it’s inception, been involved with the Gautrain project on a consultancy basis as well as a supplier of surveying hardware and software for the alignment and profile control of the underground section of the rail project.

ESKOM’s new Ingula Pumped Storage Scheme (formerly known as the Braamhoek project) has also made extensive use of Proudafrique’s expertise in tunnel alignment and profile management hardware / software combinations. Both the Gautrain and Ingula projects have required extensive training of their surveyors in the use and understanding of the TMS hardware and software.

Since it’s inception in 2007, Proudafrique has acquired the distributorship in Sub-Saharan Africa for products and services from

  • Amberg Technologies AG, a Swiss company specialising in tunnel and rail measurement products and software,
  • Zoller+Fröhlich GmbH, a German company specialising in high definition 2D and 3D laser scanners
  • DMT GmbH a German company, who specialise in underground / shaft surveying, structural / seismic and vibration monitoring as well as the development of specialised products for these complex measurements.
